Legal & Compliance
Terms of Service & DPA.
These terms govern your use of Project Origin and serve as our binding Data Processing Agreement (DPA).
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Project Origin Receivables Scanner (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these terms. The Service is strictly intended for business-to-business (B2B) use.
2. Data Processing Agreement (DPA)
To comply with global data protection laws including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), this section serves as our Data Processing Agreement.
- Roles: You (the user) act as the Data Controller (or Data Fiduciary). Project Origin acts solely as the Data Processor processing data exclusively on your documented instructions (i.e., initiating a scan).
- Data Minimization: We adhere to strict data minimization. Uploaded financial documents and generated artifacts are automatically permanently deleted after 24 hours.
- Subprocessors: We use Microsoft Azure and Supabase to host and process data. By agreeing to these terms, you provide general authorization for these subprocessors.
- No AI Model Training: We explicitly do not use your uploaded CSV data or derived financial results to train any Artificial Intelligence or Large Language Models (LLMs). Processing is deterministic.
- International Transfers: Where data is transferred across borders, we rely on standard mechanisms such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) to ensure lawful transfer.
3. CCPA / CPRA Notice for California Residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and CPRA, we act as a "Service Provider." We do not "sell" or "share" your personal information, B2B contact information, or sensitive financial information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We retain your data only for the fleeting 24-hour window necessary to provide the scanning service.
4. Acceptable Use & Responsibilities
You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right, consent, and authority to upload any third-party financial data (such as debtor information) into the Service for processing.
5. Demonstration Data & Fictional Entity Disclaimer
Any sample datasets, preview tables, demonstration reports, and screenshots provided on this website (including names such as "Acme Enterprises (Sample)", "Meridian Systems (Sample)", "Orion Dynamics (Sample)", "Northstar Studio", and related fictitious counterparties) are strictly synthetic, simulated demonstrations created for product illustration purposes. Any resemblance to real companies, living individuals, registered trademarks, or actual commercial entities is entirely coincidental. Project Origin does not endorse, represent, or claim affiliation with any third-party entity through illustrative preview materials.
6. Limitation of Liability
The Service provides deterministic receivables prioritization based on the data you supply. It does not constitute legal, accounting, or financial advice. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Project Origin and its founder shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or revenue, arising from your use of the Service.
